Timothy L. Cox, 65, of Grovetown Georgia passed away from this life into eternal life on Friday September 17th, 2021.
Tim is survived by his children, Tracy Suell, Elizabeth May, Jennifer Ringgold, and Timothy Cox II; his wife, Wendy Cox; his stepchildren (who he cared for as his own), Tyler Burke, Trevor Burke, Corey Stavely, and John Cornelison Jr. (CJ); his siblings, Tommy Cox, Rita McCauley, Vickie Robinson, and Ronnie Cox; fifteen grandchildren; and everyone else he considered one of his own. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thirstle and Joyce Cox and his brother, Roger Cox.
Tim was born in Scottsburg, Indiana on March 22nd, 1956, to Thirstle (TC) and Joyce (Land) Cox. He joined the military straight out of Highschool at the age of eighteen. He served in the Army for twenty years, where he was able to travel the world. He met his first wife Susan (Haberkamp) O’Tyson in 1975. They were together for 29 years and had 4 children. He later met his second wife, Wendy (Burke) Cox on July 7th, 2006, and were married in 2015. During that time, he gladly took in her children and treated them as his own.
Tim was a devoted father, but an even more devoted grandfather (also know as Pawn Shop Paw). He spent much of his time after the Army working at Crackshot Pawn and several other odd jobs. His favorite pass time was fishing and helping fellow Veterans. Tim was known for buying too many stuffed animals for his grandchildren and loading them up on sweets. Many joke that he loved his grandchildren more than his own children. However, he did commonly get them in trouble for throwing straw wrappers at each other while at restaurants. Tim was a great man who was loved by all who knew him.
