Nancy McRae Keats, 83, of Hephzibah, Georgia, died June 19, 2018 at the home of her caregiver and friend, Ora Lykins. Born May 17, 1935, in Memphis, Tennessee, she is predeceased by her father, Hugh McRae and mother, Alice Barnett, her husband, William Keats, along with her son, Charles Keats.
Nancy was a homemaker and worked part time in the home health care industry before retiring. As the wife of a career military veteran, she and her family lived in Germany, Colorado, Washington, Arizona, Tennessee, and Georgia. They moved to Hephzibah, Georgia in 1963, where Nancy developed an affinity for the rural lifestyle that the community offered. Nancy is known for her independent spirit, resourcefulness, generosity, and willingness to help those in need.
Survivors include her brother, Robert Barnett; daughter, Kim Keats and her partner, Dennis Vernon; son, Matthew Keats and his partner, Tammy Stewart; grandsons, Kyle Keats, Dallas Keats, and Dylan Keats.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Poteet Funeral Home, 3465 Peach Orchard Road, Augusta, Ga 30906.Print Obituary & Condolences
