Alma Dean Turner, 64, of Martinez entered into rest on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Doctors Hospital.
A native of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, she moved to the Augusta area in 1977 alongside her husband William Al Turner. Born and raised in Monroe County, Kentucky, she was a 1971 graduate of Gamaliel High School. After moving to Augusta, her career flourished and she retired as a case worker for Columbia County Department of Children and Family Services. She worked with people all of her life and enjoyed helping others whenever possible.
She enjoyed attending theatre plays with friends and family, doing needle crafts and sewing, and was an avid Georgia Bulldogs fan.
She is preceded in death by her husband; her parents, Lonnie B. and Marie Francis; and a brother, Darrell Marshall Francis.
She is survived by daughters, Elizabeth (Robbie) White of Martinez and Anna Marie Turner of Grovetown; Sister, Audrey Diane (Douglas) Peden of Temple Hill, KY; grandchildren, Laura-Ann Marie White, Victoria Leah Turner Rosales, and Joey Stivender; and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 form 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Poteet Funeral Home. Private services and interment will be held at a later date at the family cemetery in Kentucky.
