John Garland Lonergan, 76, of Gibson, Ga., passed away on December 28, 2019.
Mr. Lonergan, son of Harold and Harriett Lonergan, was born on November 17, 1943. John married the love of his life, Betty Corley Lonergan on January 26, 1962. Together they had five children. His surviving children are as follows: Deborah Reese, Roy Lonergan, and Annie Yates (Eddie). Siblings, George Lonergan (Lois), Anna Kate Carter, Gail Sparks, James Lonergan, Sandy Burnett (Joe), Billy Lonergan, and Ray Lonergan.
Mr. Lonergan is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Harriett Lonergan, two daughters, Vera Lynnette Lonergan, and Patsy Ann Newsome.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, January 3, 2020, at Poteet Funeral Home in Augusta, Ga, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
