Jack O. Hanley, Sr., 87, of Augusta, Georgia, died August 29, 2020, at his Martinez home.
Jack was born May 3, 1933, to Tom and Ollie Mae (Hayden) Hanley. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; his sister, Gloria (Hanley) Corgliano; and his wife, Erlene (Wilk) Hanley. Jack is survived by his daughter, Pat Hanley, and two sons, Jack (Buster) Hanley, Jr., — wife, Barbara (Coursey) Hanley; and David Hanley. He is also survived by four grandsons, Brady Hanley; Baylor Hanley — wife, Laura (Stubbs) Hanley; Blaine Hanley; Blake Hanley; and one granddaughter, Blair Hanley. He is a veteran having served in the United States Navy. He worked 54 years as a firefighter and dedicated 42 years of summer vacations working in the Advent Christian Camp Georgia and Camp Georgolina programs, first as a kitchen helper, then as head cook, and finally as camp coordinator.
Due to COVID-19, the memorial service will be private for immediate and extended family only; however, the service will be livestreamed on Tuesday, September 8, 2020, at 7:00 p.m. The service can be accessed by going to the First Advent Christian Church Augusta Georgia Facebook page and clicking the livestream.
