Julie Grace Busby Davis, 59, of Hephzibah, Ga. passed away on Friday, January 13, 2017. She was born to the late Allen McCoy Busby Jr. and Lila Ruth Fulmer Busby.
Julie grew up in Williston, SC and attended Jefferson Davis Academy in Blackville, SC. She attended the University of South Carolina-Aiken, where she was an honor graduate. She lived and worked in Aiken, SC for Woodward/White, Inc., before changing careers and taught high school English at Walhalla High School in Walhalla, SC. She was an active volunteer at hospitals in Augusta and attended St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church.
Family and friends were Julie’s passion and delight. The bond that she and her sisters had was strong and you were guaranteed a laugh when they were together. The close friendships that she developed from her time in Aiken were also a big part of her life. She really considered them as family, too. Her biggest joy, fulfillment, love of her life were her three sons. Her best days were always when she was with her boys.
Julie is survived by her sons, Joey(Shannon) Davis of Lexington, SC, Jonathan(Anna Leigh) Davis of San Diego, CA, Michael Davis of Lexington, SC; sisters, Pat(Tom) Mims of Hephzibah, GA, Merry(Gary) Allen of Moncks Corner, SC; a brother, Al Busby of Mesa, Az; granddaughter, Riley Davis and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother Lila Ruth Fulmer Busby.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church in Augusta, Ga. at 11 AM. The Reverend James Said will be officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall. A private burial will be held at Williston Cemetery in Williston, SC.
